The Process Engineer Role The Process Engineer assists in defining the current state by being responsible for the process modeling (process flow and physical execution), data collection and initial process analysis and data integrity. All supporting process documentation is the responsibility of the Process Analyst throughout the life of the project. The Process Engineer assists in defining and developing the solution by making use of various tools within the IQ Methodology. The IQ Process Engineering Methodology and supporting Toolset forms the cornerstone of any project implementation. The methodology is not a step-by-step prescription, but rather a blend of suggestions and ideas that can be applied practically in a real life environment based on the Process Engineer’s experience, supported by the Process Manager. The Process Engineer must show the relevant knowledge, supported by experience, in terms of the Industry at stake, the client’s organisation, impacts related to that industry and organisation, general terms and policies – all relating to the Process Engineer’s allocated work-stream. Apart from the general junior project management skills, attributes, competencies and behaviours, it is vital that the Process Manager understands the specific Process Management principles in terms of Scoping, Project Definition, Time Estimation, Risk Management, etc. in order to define it for the project and allocated work-stream.
